Shotwell Icon by DanRabbit Shotwell Icon by DanRabbit
Playing with ideas for an icon for Shotwell.

Suggestions welcome.

You can branch the icon here if you'd like to play around with it, help me scale it, etc: [link]

't'would be awesome if this became default. I think a green landscape as apposed to the red flower might be nice (I'll be making my own fork). Thanks, Dan!

Oh hell yeah, that would totally work. I like the design of their website and iconography okay, but I think stuff like this could be the default. It's all logical, sensible, and distinct- very good job.

In my opinion, the lense is a bit too blue and maybe the photograph could contain more details

I agree with you.

Hmm... still not so sure about the lens part.
Or maybe I'm just too used to the way Aperture, Camera+ and others present it (i.e. details such as the color, reflection, etc)

Why don't you stick with the shotwell original colors. RGB. The Back stays Blue, the front pic is green and the camera hue red, (but then again it might look like a record button than a camera) either way it would state still life. Always on. Always remembering.
The thing is i like the format and structure of the icon but the icon could still stay intact with the original. Giving reference and honor. That's just me though. Love the work.
